Tips to start a small business/firm from college itself without spending much money

1. Make ur college projects Count

2. Form a group of like minded friends and bid for project sites (like getacoder.com, Elance.com) and use technical support and guidance from

Skivoo.com to win projects and gain exposure to live commercial projects. By this way you will learn

client communication/marketing, Project Budgeting, scheduling/estimating, Project Plan, Project Design and the various steps

in a SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

3. Most smaller IT companies started this way, and once you have completed project and received payment,

you can confidently bid for other projects and use the reference of the previous project. In this way you can grow to

a small/mid size IT firm.

4. Type 2 - Entrepreneurship

* you might hav a good idea and u will feel that it has good potential, in this case first thing you have to do is to look into your idea from a business/commercial point of view.

* once your idea is commercially viable, prepare a small business plan detailing

* what all things you need to get this idea into a reality?..u hav to think interms of

capital(cash/money) required, software/hardware, human resource etc.

* next stage is to think about how much and and what all can you contribute

* if what you hav is not enough, find out different ways of completing your needs like

whether bringing in one or more friends meets ur needs? or you need an investor or try barter system(my personal fav- u hav to have

quite a niche, and good understanding of how business is done)

* next step based on needs meeting option put everything in doc. and get all stakeholders/partners/supporters/associates

to sign and fufill their obligation duties amnd responsibilities.

5. reduce and avoid expenses, look for different business and revenue models that can be worked out with ur core idea.

6. try to develop the core idea to bring the major share of revenues but parallely develop the other revenue models as well.
